Krakow

Well after a downer of a day yesterday, saying goodbye to the campers and our Polish counselors we headed to Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration camps. The temperature was in the high 80's and a higher dew point so we felt we could smell the death and destruction of the lives that were so needlessly wasted. It is one of those kind of sad days that I don't like to repeat. We didn't get to dinner until after 8:00, but it was very tasty. Then we had to have Gelato for dessert!! We missed Ewelina in Krakow. I was very sad as we have a very special bond that has grown over the years. After such an emotional day we headed back to our hostel to sleep. On Friday, we had devotions led by Katie with a sermon in a sack made famous by Pastor James for the children's sermon at Holy Savior. Chelsea pick out a campers name badge. She talk about praying for the campers and that we are children of God and that one day we will all get to live together or meet here on earth. Great Devo!! Then we hit the streets!! Another hot and humid day. I was hoping for cooler weather over here, but no suck luck. Pastor, Iwona and I went to get the Pro Wo Jung Lee at a little store by our hostel. When we asked for 21, he said, "Are you Kidding??" They only had 3 but they will have the rest after 4:30. We walked back to the market square. It was fun. I got all my shopping done. But some others had a big list. At 2:30 we walked Iwona to the bus station. Another sad day!! It is with all my hope that God will great me the financial ability to come back here again.
