First Day of Classes July 23rd

The first day of teaching is always exciting with getting to know the class. The kids would laugh when something is funny then give a "What are you talking about?" kind of look when they didn't know what you're saying. All the groups talked about the Bible lesson of the day which is when Jesus turned the water into wine. Everyone got a pitcher of water and cups, then gave the kids a little cup of water and drank them. We had gotten little drink mixes in the water turning the water a different color and gave the kids a drink. They loved it! The drink showed them how Jesus can change one thing into another. He shows his power and how he can forgive sins.

For today's lesson it was about family with the groups one through four. The two advanced groups are teaching about the US states this week. Everyone enjoyed class today with the different teachings.

Sports, crafts and music were the workshops people participating in at camp. In sports today the kids and counselors played kickball. The younger ones sometimes didn't get the game and what they were suppose to do, but the still played and had fun. Music was going out the windows from the chapel and heard through out the camp. The kids had a lot of fun with actions, singing and watching Chelsea being animated while doing the actions. Tie dying shirts is what happened in crafts the shirts turned out really well. While tie dying kids were dancing to the music being carried out of the chapel.

The evening games were captain, captain and elbow tag. Seeing the happy looks on the kids while the played and ran with teachers and counselors were great. That made the day much better and happier for everyone.

On the steps outside the students were teaching some of the teacher polish word and phrases. The girls would laugh when they pronounced the words wrong. Everything was great today and made for a great first day of class.
